Past Projects:

Purchased 4+ acres of water at Mt. Pleasant Estates sewage ponds for a wildlife area, now heavily used by ducks and other species.

Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program with Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains, serving Wood, Wirt, and Ritchie Counties.

Sponsored a recycling program on the WVU-Parkersburg campus.

Assisted Wood County Master Gardeners in developing a 15-acre arboretum in South Parkersburg.

Supported Coal River Mountain Watch to stop mountaintop removal and worked with Marsh Fork Elementary School to improve local health and well-being.

Supported WV FREE to educate West Virginia women on reproductive choice and overall well-being.

Financed the Highlands Conservancy for environmental education projects, wilderness designation policies, and red spruce restoration.

Purchased the Dixie Street property in Charleston (lease-purchase agreement) for Citizens Action Group headquarters.

Helped finance the Bob Henry Baber Trail System near Richwood.

Sponsored recycling grants for local Wood County schools.

Funded CAG’s MSERF program to advance Bottle Bill legislation.

Provided $2,000 for each hybrid vehicle purchased by the Wood County Commission of Parkersburg.

Provided long-term funding for SORO (Surface Owners’ Rights Organization) to protect landowners in oil and gas issues.

Funded the Rivers Coalition of WV annually for water protection initiatives.

Partnered with the WV Extension Service and Toyota to fund a five-year, $25,000 4-H Camp Conservation Program at WV camps.

Supported efforts to secure Birthplace of Rivers Wilderness Designation in Pocahontas County, where five rivers originate.

Helped fund sustainability programs at WVU (agriculture) and Marshall University (education).

Financed easements with Cacapon and Lost River Land Trusts.

Helped finance the Potomac Conservancy’s purchase of 1,500-acre White Horse Mountain along the river.

Funded Mid-Ohio Valley Climate Action to actively address climate change.

Helped sponsor Charleston’s Bridge Valley Foundation Business Incubator.

Provided ongoing funding for Friends of Blackwater to support preservation in Canaan Valley and Blackwater Canyon.

Funded group solar initiatives to encourage neighborhood-based solar expansion.

Provided multiple rounds of funding to the WV Land Trust for the purchase of the Jenkinsburg property on the Cheat River near Cheat Lake, Morgantown.

Worked to develop a 25–35-acre solar field along I-77 near Parkersburg (ongoing).

Supported the Community Foundation of the Alleghenies in efforts to stop fracking.

Backed Energy Efficient WV to promote sustainable energy progress.

Helped establish a new Environmental Fund through the Parkersburg Area Community Foundation (PACF) to pursue conservation and sustainability.
